Based on an original Victorian design, this traditional form of border edging provides a decorative and functional boundary to different sections or themes within a garden.
The hoops are supplied as individual items and are simple to place into the ground and can also be arranged in patterns according to individual taste, overlapping, adjacent or separated.
Traditionally seen in 19th and early 20th Century gardens, the designs were featured in the Victorian Garden Catalogue and offered by numerous gardening focussed ironmongers of the day.
The hoops are produced by twisting a square bar of iron and then formed into the hoop shape. This means that they are considered to be worked or ‘wrought’ iron in nature, rather than cast from molten metal. Both sides of the hoop finish in a point in order to allow for easy insertion into the ground.
Items are electroplated prior to being powder coated in black as this offers maximum corrosion protection and minimum maintenance requirements.
